International Press (IP)

Capturing Truth. Shaping Narratives.

The International Press (IP) committee is a unique and dynamic body within the Model UN conference. Unlike traditional committees that focus on debate and resolution-drafting, the IP simulates the role of the global media. Its members act as impartial journalists and photographers, tasked with reporting on the proceedings of the entire conference.

At KTMUN, the IP gives delegates the opportunity to step into the fast-paced world of international reporting. This international reporting further has two formats - Journalism and Photography. The role of IP is to ensure transparency, foster inter-committee communication, and hold delegates accountable for their words and actions, mirroring the essential function of a free press in global affairs.

What the IP Stands For

  • Objective Reporting: Providing fair, accurate, and unbiased coverage of debates and decisions.
  • Investigative Journalism: Uncovering the stories behind the policy statements and alliances.
  • Powerful Storytelling: Using words and images to create compelling narratives that inform and engage.
  • Accountability & Transparency: Acting as the "watchdog" of the conference and ensuring all voices are heard.

What to Expect as a Delegate?

Journalists will cover committee sessions, conduct interviews with delegates, write news articles, and publish opinion pieces. Photographers will be responsible for capturing the defining moments of diplomacy in action. Together, the IP team will produce official conference newsletters, press releases, and digital content, providing a comprehensive overview of the event.

Why Choose the IP?

  • Experience the entire MUN conference from a unique, bird's-eye view.
  • Develop practical skills in journalism, photography, interviewing, and critical thinking.
  • Engage with every committee and learn about a diverse range of global issues.
