The Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) is the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). It focuses on matters related to disarmament, international security, and challenges that threaten peace across the globe.
At KTMUN, DISEC gives delegates the opportunity to step into the shoes of global leaders and address pressing concerns such as nuclear disarmament, arms control, regional conflicts, outer space security, and the prevention of military technologies in the wrong hands.
The committee plays a vital role in maintaining international stability and ensuring collective security through diplomacy, negotiation, and consensus-building.
